Over the last decade, the rise of veganism has influenced an ever-increasing body of evidence in support of the health advantages of plant-based nutrition. With 6% of vegans identifying themselves as adolescents between the ages of 14-18, (Dietician’s Association of Australia, 2016) it is essential that young adults are aware of their dietary requirements and whether a vegan diet can meet their nutritional needs. Through discussing the meaning of veganism, an adolescent’s dietary requirements, benefits of veganism, health concerns and suggestions for meeting nutritional needs, this website aims to uncover “to what extent can a vegan diet meet the nutritional requirements of adolescents.”
